Bering is a medical AI software company that creates Clinical Decision Support systems along the continuum of health and care.
Founded in 2010, Bering is internationally acknowledged for its state-of-the-art research and its application to translational medicine. We are based in London, United Kingdom. Our company details and our registration with the UK's Data Protection Regulator (the ICO) can be found at ico.org.uk.

Health and Care Professionals
Bering Limited is a clinical decision support provider for healthcare organisations like your employer — perhaps a GP practice or a hospital trust. If you are a member of staff that uses Bering's products, we receive information about you in three ways:
- Bering account registration — when you sign up to our Support Portal account.
- Ongoing use of Bering products, such as Brave AI or Brave CX.
- If you contact us directly, for example through our email or chat platform.
Bering account registration
Upon creating a Bering Support Portal account, we collect: Full Name, Email, Organisation, and Clinical Role. We collect this on the basis of legitimate interest to link your profile to your organisation. You can ask us to remove or update your contact details at any time by contacting support@beringlimited.atlassian.net.
Ongoing use of Bering products
We provide software products to healthcare organisations who are responsible for how your information is used in our platform — this means we're acting as a "Data Processor". We have a clear agreement with your healthcare provider that sets out what we do with the data and how we keep it safe. You can request to review the Data Processing Agreements by contacting support@beringlimited.atlassian.net.
Email, social media or telephone engagement
When you contact us over social media, email, or via live chat, we may collect: Name, Email, Telephone number, Social media handles, and anything else you share with us. We collect this on the basis of our legitimate interest to respond to you and discuss our products and services.
Prospective Buyers from Healthcare Organisations
If you work for a commissioner in the NHS or someone who buys software for healthcare providers, when we speak to you about prospective deals we will collect: Full name, Age, Email, Content of email communications, and any additional information you provide.
We collect this on the basis of our legitimate interests to discuss procurement and purchasing decisions of our products by your organisation.
User/Market Research Participants
We spend a lot of time speaking to healthcare professionals and patients to understand their needs. When you participate in our research, we collect: Full name, Age, Email, and any additional information you provide through surveys, interviews or other communications.
We collect this either on the basis of our legitimate interest to ensure our products are fit for purpose, or on the basis of your explicit consent obtained at the beginning of the research project. In some circumstances we may carefully anonymise your personal data for indefinite use in product analysis and service improvement.
Job Applicants and Prospects
When you apply for a role with us
We collect: Name, Telephone number, Email address, Employment history and CV data, Assessment results, and feedback from staff and referees. We collect this on the basis of legitimate interest to assess applications and to meet our legal obligation to ensure applicants have the right to work.
Email or social media contact
If you contact us about a job application we also collect technical information including IP addresses and social media handles. We retain information about prospective employees for a maximum of 24 months to improve our hiring process or inform you of other opportunities.

Data Retention
Our data retention periods are:

Patient Data
If you are a Patient, we encourage you to refer to the privacy notice of the healthcare organisation with which you are registered for information about how your personal data is used.
We only process your data under explicit instruction from the relevant healthcare data controller. We may collect demographic data, medical history data, lifestyle data, clinical and diagnostic data, and medical imaging data to:
- Calculate the risk of you experiencing an unplanned hospitalisation in the next 12 months
- Calculate the anticipated complexity of your care and predicted GP interactions
- Analyse and assist in the interpretation of medical images
- Monitor the performance of the AI tools we use to process your data
